Role Description This full-time remote role is for Spanish–English Medical Interpreters providing services via Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI). Day-to-day responsibilities include accurately and ethically interpreting medical encounters between healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring clarity, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity in all communications. Interpreters will handle scheduled and on-demand calls and video sessions, follow established protocols, and adhere to medical and privacy regulations. The role may also involve documenting session details according to company procedures, participating in training, and using company platforms and tools to manage assignments. Team members are expected to maintain professional behavior, meet performance and quality standards, and collaborate effectively with coordinators and other language professionals. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Medical Interpretation skills and a solid understanding of medical terminology in both Spanish and English. Candidates should possess Interpreting and Simultaneous Interpretation skills for remote OPI and VRI settings. Candidates should possess Translation skills for occasional written medical documents as needed. Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension abilities. Prior experience as a medical interpreter or relevant certification (e.g., CMI, CHI) is highly beneficial. Familiarity with healthcare environments, patient confidentiality, and regulations such as HIPAA is preferred. Reliable high-speed internet, a quiet workspace, and comfort using remote communication and interpretation technology.
