Position Purpose
The Manager / Senior Deputy Manager – Localization Planning is responsible for developing and executing localization plans to achieve the company’s localization, cost reduction, and local content targets. The role will coordinate cross-functional activities across Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Production, Finance, and suppliers to ensure timely development and implementation of localized parts, regulatory compliance, and successful new model launches.
Key Responsibilities
Develop annual and long-term localization plans aligned with business objectives and localization targets.
Prepare and maintain the localization master plan, project schedules, milestones, and implementation timelines.
Identify and evaluate localization opportunities based on technical feasibility, cost competitiveness, supplier capability, and business requirements.
Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Production, Finance, and suppliers for timely development and localization of parts.
Monitor localization projects, identify potential risks and delays, and implement recovery actions to ensure timely completion.
Track tooling development, supplier readiness, PPAP approvals, part validation, and Start of Production (SOP) requirements.
Develop localization business cases, investment proposals, cost analysis, and management reports for decision-making.
Coordinate with the Engineering Development Board (EDB) and relevant regulatory authorities for localization approvals and compliance requirements.
Monitor localization KPIs, project budgets, cost savings, and overall program performance.
Support new model launches by ensuring availability and readiness of localized parts in line with program timelines.
Drive value engineering, localization cost reduction, supplier competitiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead, guide, and mentor the Localization Planning team while ensuring adherence to company procedure.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline.
10 years of relevant experience in automotive localization, supply chain, product development, or project management, preferably within the automotive industry.
Specific Requirements
Strong understanding of automotive localization and local content requirements.
Ability to manage multiple localization projects and meet strict program timelines.
Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate cost and investment proposals.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP MM/PP.
Strong stakeholder management and supplier negotiation skills.
Ability to prepare management presentations, project dashboards, and performance reports.
